About Me

Hello, my name is Ritachit Sarkar and I am a first year undergraduate student at The Ohio State University. I am majoring in Computer Science and Engineering but I also have an interest in the Pre-Medicine track. I am a member of the Honors & Scholars Program in the College of Engineering for the Class of 2021. I have participated in the R-LEAD and OWL programs at Ohio State University where I engaged in many activities with current first-year students like me, including helping people move into their dormitories on the official Move In Day.

Before entering college, I went to high school at Olentangy Liberty High School in Powell, Ohio where I graduated in 2017 with the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, a feat that I wish to achieve similarly in college. I worked at the Columbus Zoo during the summer before college where I helped serving food and drinks to customers. I volunteered at Nationwide Children’s Hospital under the Volunteen program for three years before graduation and also entered a medical program there known as Mechanisms of Human Health and Disease during the summer of 2016. I was also a member of the Science Olympiad team and the JV captain of my school’s tennis team.

In the future, I hope to bridge the gaps between Computer Science and Pre-Medicine such as through Bioinformatics, which can be achieved if I network with all kinds of people. I don’t wish to network only to look for opportunities for research and such but I also want to become a better communicator.

As of right now, I don’t have a solid path to my future that I plan on taking but I am moving forward. Once I dive in and begin to take advantage of everything that I can at Ohio State University, I’ll be able to see my academic goals and possible careers more clearly.
