What is Self-Care and Burnout?

Self-care is any activity someone does that helps them take care of their mental, physical, and emotional growth. The topic of self-care is very important and plays a vital role in maintaining your health, preventing disease, and helping you recover from certain things.

Burnout has been a long-identified issue especially in the education field. Burnout is often characterized as physical, emotional and/or mental exhaustion that is joined by decreased levels of motivation, performance, and attitude. Causes of burnout can be by working too hard, long and unpredictable working hours. Self-care and burnout work hand in hand most of the time. If you take care of yourself physically and mentally it can decrease your chances of burnout.
