My name is Gina Santi. I live in Centerville, Ohio with my parents and I have two older sisters and three nephews and a new niece on the way. I graduated from Centerville High School this Spring in a class of over six hundred people. I learn best through reading materials and hands on experience such as labs.
I have participated in marching band playing mellophone all four years of high school and was the mellophone section leader my senior year. I also took band class all four year playing French Horn and was first chair for two years. I played trumpet in jazz ensembles as well. My last two years of high school I additionally participated in Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. I was inducted into National Honor Society in Spring and I served as an Officer for French Club and have been in French Honor Society for three years. I was also a scholar athlete having participated in swim team and achieving my varsity letter while maintaining a high G.P.A. Marching Band and Swimming provided me with a large circle of friends and helped me to become a well rounded person.
My academic goals are to adjust to college life and keep my grades up while exploring my new independence, growing as a person, making new friends and having fun. I hope to learn how to balance my academic and social life while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I wish to spend more time studying in college than I did in high school. Another goal I have is to simply enjoy the work I will be doing because instead of taking all the required classes to graduate, I will be taking classes geared toward engineering specifically. I want to also narrow down exactly what I want to do for a career based on my experiences I will receive in college. In my first year of college I have continued to do band class and swim for the Ohio State Club Swim Team while managing my school work.
