Chemistry is by far my hardest class. The only thing that makes it worthwhile is my professor. He gives us a million practice problems and answers emails right away which makes us feel like he cares!

I am thrilled to be able to take classes and study things that actually interest me! I was able to get a taste of it in my high school with AP classes, however now it’s everything! I am nervous about figuring out where my classes are because the campus is so large. I am hopeful that I will get the general gist of it soon, so that I don’t have to entirely rely on google maps to take me from class to class.
My first week as been exciting! I love my roommate and I love my floor! We all get along really well, and all have similar interests. My classes have been amazing. So far I enjoy all of my professors, and they seem approachable and like they actually like teaching their classes. My work load has been manageable so far, and I am trying to use my time management skills to ensure I have enough time to get all my work done, eat, sleep, socialize, and exercise. (Crossing my figures that this will last a little while longer!)
I expect my OSU experience to continue to get better. I am on an upward incline and I couldn’t be more excited. I am feeling quite comfortable here, and know that OSU has more things in store for me than I could ever think of. I expect my classes to become more interesting, even if the material becomes more challenging. I expect to fill myself with Buckeye pride, and attend as many athletic events as possible, not just football games! Im very glad I am apart of Humanities Scholars. It’s nice to be able to interact with people who have common interests and who are all intelligent! I am excited about the events that are flooded throughout my calendar. Humanities will definitely keep my busy, and that helps with homesickness as well as gaining the freshman 15. (Except for all the free food at events!) I am confident my first year experience will be everything I expected and more. Being apart of the Scholars program, and living in Baker East have been blessings to me for my Freshman year.

When beginning the idea of Strengths I thought it could be beneficial. However, I am not really a fan of them. The way the concept was portrayed to us didn’t really coincide with a well rounded approach to life. I believe that yes, knowing your strengths is very important! But also knowing your weakness and acknowledging them is even more important. I received Strategic, Futuristic, Intellection, Deliberative, and discipline. These are pretty reflective of what i do believe i can good at, however i was only placed in two categories! (Strategic thinking, and Executing) The way that the strengths are spread out can be a little disconcerting to people, and make them feel lesser, even though strengths is about making you feel greater.
In the future, I will use some of the skills Strengths has altered me to, such as discipline, and futuristic, to continue building a structure and foundation for the rest of my life, and what i plan to do as a career. The definition of Discipline is “People especially talented in the Discipline theme enjoy routine and structure. Their world is best described by the order they create”. For me, I think that fits me pretty well! I love a routine, and a plan, going into a situation blind is not an option for me. The definition of Futuristic is “People especially talented in the Futuristic theme are inspired by the future and what could be. They inspire others with their visions of the future”. Im not sure if i inspire others with my visions of my future, but i myself am inspired by what the future might hold, and how i can get to the future goals i set for myself. These two strengths will be key in my career goals!
