Undergraduate students invited to apply for Propel Ohio collegiate leadership summit

Propel Ohio is a leadership program that promotes civic engagement and inspires undergraduate students to grow into civic leaders in Ohio. Undergraduate students are invited to apply to participate in Propel Ohio: Collegiate Leadership Summit 2017, which will be held on Friday, Nov. 17 at the University of Akron. The program will actively engage with college students on issues that affect childhood poverty, including food security, inequities in education, and homelessness. The application deadline isTuesday, October 10.

New! Nominations open for Pharmacy Outreach and Engagement Awards

The College of Pharmacy Office of Outreach and Engagement is accepting nominations for the first ever Outreach and Engagement Awards. The awards and criteria are listed below. To nominate someone, email a letter of recommendation to Laura Hall at hall.42@osu.edu.

College of Pharmacy Engagement Awards

“Faculty/Staff Award for Community Engagement”

Recognizes any faculty/staff member at the College of Pharmacy for exceptional work in community engagement through reciprocity in collaboration with one or more community partners who may be public and/or private sector, local to global, that are external to the university, valuable learning experiences for students and/or other trainees, sustainable contributions, and/or demonstrated impact that addresses an important community need.

  • Awarded annually; recipient eligible only once every three years
  • Nominations (CV and letter(s)) submitted to awards committee by January 15th
  • Recipient awarded at Spring Pharmacy Gala

“Alumni Award for Outstanding Community Engagement”

Recognizes an alumnus or alumna from any training or academic program of the College of Pharmacy for outstanding accomplishments in community engagement.  Nominees should be involved in outreach and engagement that includes reciprocity in collaboration with one or more community partners who may be public and/or private sector, local to global, that are external to the university, valuable learning experiences for students and/or other trainees, sustainable contributions, and/or demonstrated impact that addresses an important community need.

  • Awarded as appropriate and not more than annually; can receive only once
  • Nominations (CV and letter(s)) submitted to awards committee by December 15th
  • Recipient awarded at Spring Pharmacy Gala

“Graduate/Professional Student Award for Outstanding Community Engagement”

Recognizes a graduating Graduate/Professional student for excellence through his or her involvement in community engagement efforts that demonstrate reciprocity in collaboration with one or more community partners who may be public and/or private sector, local to global, that are external to the university, sustainable contributions, and/or demonstrated impact that addresses an important community need.

  • Awarded annually at Hooding Ceremony/Graduate Student Reception
  • Nominations submitted to awards committee by last day of February

“BSPS Student Award for Outstanding Community Engagement”

Recognizes a graduating BSPS student for excellence through his or her involvement in community engagement efforts that demonstrate reciprocity in collaboration with one or more community partners who may be public and/or private sector, local to global, that are external to the university, sustainable contributions, and/or demonstrated impact that addresses an important community need.

  • Awarded annually at BSPS Graduation Lunch
  • Nominations submitted to awards committee by last day of February

 

Connect and Collaborate Grant Program

On behalf of the Connect and Collaborate Program Stewardship Partners, this note is to inform you that the 2017-18 grants program supporting engaged teaching, research and service activities will be announced university-wide next week. The maximum grant award is $70,000.
