Literatures of Addiction
Spring of 2019 — a new version of Literatures of Addiction.
amazing new work by my students — repetitions of the romantic!
An end-of-the-semester project by Shelby Royal and Kim Lemon that investigates the link between British Romanticism and the contemporary gaming world:
“This project is an exploration of how the themes and aesthetics of the Romantic movement are manifested in one of modernity’s newest artistic media: video games. As one of the fastest growing components of the entertainment industry, video games have evolved into experiences that deal with universal themes, rich storylines, and complex characters, all while pushing the boundaries of modern technology. Video games provide an immersive experience which is otherwise unseen and allows for the audience to encounter the themes of the Romantics in a new way.”
