Hyperloop Train :
The Hyperloop is an idea that has been around or a long time and is based on creating a near vacuum in a tube so that a train can move extremely fast due to low air resistance. The Hyperloop project is proposed to decrease travel time between Los Angeles and San Francisco to just 30 minutes. It is projected to travel at speeds of 760 mph and use a new type of motor called linear induction motors. It will take a lot of power on initial acceleration but since there is very low air resistance there wont need to be any motors on continuously and will only need to have another motor approximately every 70 miles.
The reason I studied this is because America has fallen behind most other countries in terms of public transportation. Most Asian countries have trains such as the bullet train or other railway systems that can connect people to other parts of the country. In America most people drive or fly but the proposed Hyperloop is faster than any other transportation method and is a very new technology that is being researched and tested actively. Currently the company SpaceX is holding competitions for teams of engineers to test out new pod designs in order to see which is the most effective and is even building a test track that is on the large scale so everyone can see if the idea will work. It will take a long time to get this train running for passengers however, due to its unknown potential risks even when a final version is built it will be used only for cargo at first.
