Artifacts

BMC-3 This is the final iteration of the the business model canvas (BMC) that would outline how my group’s project — The Art House — would be feasible. The coloring is for priority. From highest to lowest: green, yellow, and then none. The project spanned about four weeks. Through these weeks the group would continuously add features and support to this document in hopes of making a more sound product. We had weekly meetings to discuss any changes that we had realized since the last meeting; furthermore, these meetings provided a great excuse to order quantities of insomnia cookies — which are delicious and serve as good motivation! While we could’ve had more survey input, the importance of keeping an open-mind and flexible design became apparent as pivots were made necessary by the gathered input. This all culminated in a 10-minute presentation in front of the first-year class and mostly select second-year judges. Of course after the presentation I felt as if I could’ve done it better but I think that it was done well. The only complaint I had was that the some parts of the premise of the project were predicated on earlier practice presentations and the group sometimes took advantage of that by just assuming the audience knew some components of the project which could’ve confused the judges since they were hearing this for the first time. However, at the end of our presentation we had one judge approach us to tell us he really liked the idea and gave us some solid advice in continuing the project. So that was rewarding in seeing the “fourth-wall” of the classroom be ignored gave the impression that this wasn’t or shouldn’t be thought of as a simple classroom activity.
