My group chose to go to Cup-O-Joe for our experience outside of campus. The cafe was a nice, quiet place to sit eat some food and get some decent coffee. Although, it was a good place to meet and talk with friends, it did not have many spaces to sit and it was very difficult to find a seat especially for a group of people. I learned a lot about the people in my group, I also learned that the #2 bus travels quite far away from campus. It is not likely that I will go back to the cafe, this is because it was a very far distance from campus in the opposite direction of the short north, there was also limited seating.
Columbus To-do List #2
Savannah S, Madalyn and I went to One Line Coffee in the Short-North. The coffee was freshly ground and much better than getting a Starbucks coffee. Not only was the coffee at this cafe amazing, the cafe was very cute and seemed like it would be a great place to study because it was relatively quiet with a lot seating around the cafe. I would recommend going to One Line Coffee to any friend who loves coffee or exploring around the short-north, it was a very quaint shop and I will definitely be going back.
My roommates and I decided to go to Simply Rolled Ice cream, the ice cream was delicious, and I really enjoyed being able to watch the workers make my ice cream. I also like how you could customize the ice cream in any way you want or go with the traditional menu put together. I have never been to an ice cream parlor like this, it was a very unique experience to watch the ice cream being made. I would definitely recommend going to Simply Rolled to a friend, the ice cream was amazing and watching them make adds so much to the experience of getting ice cream.
My favorite experience over the semester was going to Simply Rolled Ice cream. I love ice cream, especially caramel ice cream, and the ice cream was very delicious. I learned that Columbus has many different types of food options all around the city, and although I only was able to go to three venues so far, I saw many more I plan to go to in the future. I would like to continue going to Columbus and trying more if its amazing food. I would recommend exploring the food options around Columbus to anyone new to the area, it was a great experience and I definitely feel more comfortable being in the city.
Artifacts
Artifact #1:
During 8th grade I joined a club swim team that a lot of my friends were already a part of. This taught me many skills that I integrated into schools, such as determination and goal setting. I was not natural at swimming and work hard for up to 5 hours a day, pushing myself to get better and achieve small goals. I also did this in school determined to get good grades, and to get projects done I would set small goals.
Archive #2
I decided to tryout for the OSU Women’s Rowing Team when I arrived at campus. So far this has taught me how to plan out my time efficiently, because I have to be able to fit in rowing practice along with all of my homework and projects from my classes. I am excited to continue practicing and getting better as competition season is almost here.
About Me
My name is Alexandra (Alix) Rose. I am a first year undergraduate student in the College of Engineering with a focus on chemical engineering. In the future, I hope to work in developing new products, such as, soap and lotion, at Procter and Gamble. I recently graduated from Loveland High School with an honors degree, and completed many AP classes along the way. During my time in high school, I did a lot of volunteering in my community, such as working on project Linus with National Honors Society and volunteering in my church nursery, and I plan to continue this in my time at OSU. When not in class, my interests include swimming competitively, rowing, hiking, and watching movies or Netflix. I swam for the past five years on three competitive swim teams, this year I am on the club swim team and varsity rowing team. This summer I visited England and Canada. In Canada, I learned how to water ski, how to play radio bingo and wake surf. Throughout my childhood I lived in two states, Michigan and Ohio, and two countries, England and the United States of America. Living in different areas of the world has allowed me to learn about and appreciate different cultures.
My top five strengths found through the Strengths Finder Assessment were futuristic, analytical, focus, significance, and learner. I relate to the futuristic strength most, I always have my week organized in advance and enjoy planning for the future. In any situation, I look try to look at it from every angle, and think about all things that could affect it. I am focused, I know this because I plan out my homework based on when its due and keep to the schedule. I aspire to be regarded as responsible and trustworthy by others, and through this I relate to the significance strength. I am always trying to find new things to learn, I want to gain as much knowledge as I can, which is why I’m pursuing a business minor along with my Chemical Engineering B.S. degree.

For this semester, I have chosen to do the ‘Local Food Favorites’ list. I am most excited to go to the North Market Place, mostly because I haven’t ever experienced a place similar to this and I cannot wait to go and experience it, but also because there are so many different choices of things to eat in the same venue. Throughout this assignment, I hope to gain an understanding of Columbus as a whole, and learn more about the different cultures and people around the Columbus area. Along with this, I hope to gain more knowledge of the Columbus area, and make it feel more like home.
For my first experience, I went to Condado’s with my roommates. We went to celebrate my roommate, Savannah Sensenig’s 18th birthday. Going to it we got on the Cota bus and rode to the nearest stop. I knew it was a Mexican style restaurant, and I was excited to try some new food. The food at this place was very affordable. The taco’s were good, but the queso was

the best thing about the experience, I had never had it before and it was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to any friend who like Mexican food because it had good service, was affordable and delicious.
