Hi! My name is Maria Rodriguez Calzada and I am a first year in the Health and Science Scholars program. I am currently majoring in Nutritional Science on a Pre-Pa track. After I get my Degree I am interested in going to PA school at The George Washington University in Washington D.C., near where I grew up. I attended Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland. In high school I was part of the student government where I helped arrange all the major school events. I also ran cross-country and indoor and outdoor track. In high school I was able to shadow a Pediatrician. Through my shadowing I was able to experience what private practice medicine was like and work with a lot of different people. In college I am hoping to spend my summers getting hours and experience at the same private practice in order to get the hours necessary to apply for PA school after I graduate. I’m looking forward to my journey at OSU and getting my degree in Nutritional Science and all the adventures that will come along the way.
