Compassion Fatigue: A Narrative Study of Art Teachers Instructing a Trauma Curriculum

 

Abstract

 

This narrative and arts-based study addresses the effect of traumatized students on art teachers’ empathy. I will collect data though informal, open-ended interviews and conversations with teachers. Teachers will create journals and artwork exploring compassion fatigue. Data will be interpreted though poetic transcriptions and storytelling.
