The Rivet Lab is one of the many individual research labs that make up the body of STRIVE at The Ohio State University. Although the Rivet Lab was only established in 2024, the members of the team have been working with STRIVE and within academia for many years.

The Suicide and Trauma Reduction InitiatiVE (STRIVE) Collaborative moved its operations to The Ohio State University in 2020. Recently, STRIVE has had wonderful opportunities to expand clinical operations and research efforts to provide care for ALL adults while continuing a strong commitment to military, veterans, and first responders across the world.

STRIVE is the only research institute in the US that explicitly focuses on developing, refining and treating in the area of suicide, trauma and gun related violence risk reduction.

As most current research within this field centers on population majority groups (e.g., Caucasian/white, male-identifying, heterosexual), the Rivet Lab forms a beneficial symbiosis with STRIVE at a whole as we seek to expand research and treatment offerings to underrepresented individuals that fall outside of these majority groups.
