Itinerary as follows (subject to change)

Bilingual guide will accompany the group each day except Free day Fri 20 March

Breakfast provided at hotel, all lunches on your own, several­ group meals & snacks provided

Metro passes will be provided for all days in country, 2 travels per day on a rechargeable card

Fri 13 March 2015    depart Columbus late afternoon and arrive in Rio Sat 14 March

12.30 pm       meet at Knowlton ping pong tables for chartered OSU bus leaving campus to airport OR meet at 1pm at airport, close to Delta counter

4.40 pm          DL1531 to ATL (Atlanta) arriving 6.20 pm

10.25 pm        DL61 to GIG (Rio) arriving 8.57 am next day (Rio time)

Saturday 14 March

am                   Arrive morning, private coach to hotel, 3pm check in

afternoon       Tour of hotel neighborhood district, Copacabana

3 pm               depart by private coach transport from hotel to Sugarloaf Mountain for sunset view of Rio, return by private coach transport to hotel

breakfast, lunch and dinner on your own

am                   Explore Copacabana promenade, Roberto Burle Marx (RBM) designer

$afternoon    Hippie Fair in Ipanema, meetings to time to research student project

evening         free time

Monday 16 March 2015

am                   Travel by public transport to Downtown. Walking tour including Palacio Gustavo Capanema (Ministry of Education and Health), Metropolitan Cathedral, + more

afternoon       continued walking tour to Flamengo Park (visit Museum of Modern Landscape only not museum), and/or time to research project.

evening         Group Dinner at Porçao. Return by taxi

Tuesday 17 March 2015

am                   Private coach to Niteroi, viewing exterior and/or sketching and Museum of Contemporary Art (museum is closed for emergency repairs). Continue by private coach to Niemeyer Way in Niteroi.

afternoon       Group returns walking to boat docks in Niteroi. Return to Rio boat docks by boat. Return to hotel by public transport.

evening         free

7.45 am          Private coach to Sitio Roberto Burle Marx, 9.30 am tour (1.5 hours)

afternoon       Return to Rio and Christ the Redeemer Statue visit including train ride, group returns by public bus and metro to hotel

Thursday 19 March 2015

am                   Students will individually visit a museum or cultural experience and/or time to research project

afternoon       Botanical Gardens, public transport to and returning

evening         Group dinner, location to be confirmed

Friday 20 March 2015         FREE DAY, students make own arrangements for daily activities with time to research project and work on assignments

Private coach to Maracana Stadium for 9 am Tour, private coach picks up at Maracana continuing on to Feira de Sao Cristovao market (lunch and exploring time provided at market), private coach returning to hotel

afternoon       time to research project and work on assignments

6.30 pm         private coach transport to airport

10.36 pm        DL60 GIG to ATL (Atlanta) arriving 7.42 am next day
