The Richland County Emergency Management Agency is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan to identify policies and actions that can be implemented to reduce risk and future losses from hazards. FEMA requires mitigation plans to be updated every 5 years, and by doing so the Richland County can be eligible to receive funding through several FEMA disaster response and recovery programs

Public participation is an important part of the process. We are inviting members of the community, organizations, and other relevant stakeholders to participate. Due to COVID-19, this public meeting will be held virtually on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 6pmThis first meeting will be focused on discussing the plan goals, and current hazards. Participants will be given the opportunity to submit comments and ask questions.
