Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more guidance on using your ePortfolio, including questions and prompts that will help you get started, please visit the Honors & Scholars ePortfolio course in Carmen. G.O.A.L.S.

To develop my global awareness I am looking to continue traveling to other countries for trips with involvement with the inhabitants of the country and potentially studying abroad. I have done missions trips before, including one in Paraguay and I would love to continue service work or just learn within another country. I would also like to continue to take Spanish courses, whether that is independent or through Ohio State just so that I can develop my language abilities further. I find it very important to have a second language to aid me in my future. In accordance with Original Inquiry, I plan on completing research in a lab within a science field for the upcoming semester. I have already begun contacting professors but if that does not work out I will use the Ohio State resources to connect me with different research groups. I also would like to continue to develop with entrepreneurship in mind, constantly thinking of opportunities and how I can make things in my life or others work more efficiently. To continue Academic Enrichment I will continue to maintain a rigorous course load in which I will be surrounded with others that want to push themselves to their greatest potential. Furthermore, I will try to use all the connections and resources that I have to obtain internships or research positions in which I am challenged and am working towards something every day. To develop my Leadership abilities I plan on being involved with a few things in which I can succeed and try to lead the group to success and its fullest potential. This may also come into play with jobs and research positions in the future in which I am trying to help those around me and work with others toward a common goal and taking responsibility for tasks. In order to maintain service engagement I will potentially go on service trips, but also just taking advantage of opportunities for service that are advertised everywhere, whether that is getting my blood drawn now and then or actually regularly doing service with an organization.
