Joseph M. Reyna

I am currently an undergraduate student at The Ohio State University majoring in political science with a minor in chemistry. I am a member of the Politics, Society and Law scholars group and enjoy stimulating politically driven conversations. I am from Berwyn, IL and went to J. Sterling Morton West High School. My high school experience has greatly driven what I would like to pursue in my academic career. From being enrolled in an advanced placement environmental science class and being able to gain experience working in a nature site to having people working in a statistics related field come to my advanced placement statistics class to show real applications of the materials we were being presented have led me to explore courses I would not have otherwise not taken in my college career.

Originally, my life revolved around sports as I found my calling in American football and baseball. I still was quite involved in academics and considered myself a student athlete with the student aspect as a priority. It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with Coat’s Disease in 2011 that I began to learn what true adversity was. I was no longer able to pursue my athletic related dreams ,but my academic dreams were alive and well. I used my extra time to explore fields I previously would not have considered. Today I am an  individual with a love for environmental restoration and intrigued by the intricacies of the law. I also love to write and hope in the near future I will have a piece of work published.
