Welcome!

Hello! My name is Jake Ferrell and I’ve created this website as part of an Undergraduate Research Library Fellowship through The Ohio State University Libraries. The goal of the fellowship was to explore knowledge inequity relating to the undergraduate research process and to the country of Belize. Reflecting on my time conducting research abroad in Belize, I have created this resource to help other undergraduates considering research projects that push them beyond US borders. I have also attempted to address “information gaps” related to Belize.

Research: Behind the Scenes – an in-depth look at the processes and planning that go into preparing for research abroad before you leave the United States.

Essential Belize Sources – a bibliography of introductory information for someone attempting to study Belize’s history, development, or political economy for the first time.

My Wikipedia Project – Wikipedia biographies (see Wikipedia) for prominent Belizean figures. Belizean figures are underrepresented on Wikipedia.

I hope you find the site useful!
