Artifact #1
This artifact is the gift I am holding from my grandparents, who are also in the picture. They gave me this hand-engraved rifle as a gift for receiving my Eagle Scout Rank in Boy Scouts. Even though Boy Scouts has somewhat a negative reputation, I take pride in achieving this rank and the long process of achieving the award is apart of what shaped me as the independent, responsible person I consider myself to be today.
Artifact #2
This artifact is simply a cup of coffee from the Connecting Grounds Coffee Shop in front of Drackett Tower, however coffee has been such a staple in my life for as long as I can remember. My parents owned a coffee shop when I was very young and I’ve enjoyed the taste of coffee for as long as I can remember. Even today, coffee plays a significant role in my life as it has become a part of my daily routine here at OSU and it helps me get through classes when I didn’t get enough sleep the night before. Overall, coffee has been both a connection to home and a representation of the hard work and determination I have had at OSU so far.
