Churches in Louisville and Nationally Aim to Protect Environment

Faith communities across the country are continuously finding ways to be kinder to the environment and churches in Louisville are no different. From the Green For Good Project at the University of Louisville, to building solar panels and other green features on a Buddhist temple, the goal of  building greener communities and congregations is well on its way. Green for Good Project

The Green for Good Project is located at St. Margaret Mary Catholic School in Louisville, Kentucky. The project is meant to evaluate how a buffer of trees and shrubbery around the school may improve air quality and the health of the citizens. In addition, it is meant to show students how every person has an effect on the Earth. To read more on the Green for Good project, click here.

Kentucky Nuns

The Sisters of Loretto have been involved in social movements and justice for a long time. It’s not surprising to hear that in recent history, they were involved in stopping a Kentucky pipeline. The construction of the pipeline, as well as the route it took, would have caused potentially massive amounts of pollution and damage to the earth.
