Matt Horgan, PT, DPT, SCS, AT

Experience and Interests: Matt Horgan, PT, DPT, AT, SCS completed his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training at Kent State University, gaining experience in the world of sports medicine working closely with Kent State’s Football, Baseball and Women’s basketball teams. Matt gained further experience as an athletic trainer in collegiate athletics working with both Gannon and Mercyhurst University, while completing his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Gannon University. Outside of collegiate athletics, Matt spent time with the Cleveland Browns in 2017 as a Training Camp Athletic Training Intern and in 2020 as a full season Physical Therapy/Athletic Training Intern. Matt works out of Ohio State’s Recreation and Physical Activity Center (RPAC) clinic, helping to provide on-campus access to physical therapy services for Ohio State student and faculty members. Matt primarily serves as a mentor for on-field coverage with Ohio State Club Rugby and Club Football teams. Matt is also a full-time faculty member of the Upper Extremity Athlete Physical Therapy Fellowship. In addition to on-field coverage, Matt is passionate about the world of strength and conditioning, and connecting all domains to the world of rehabilitation, in order to optimize human movement and quality of life.
Alana Kirchmer, PT, DPT, SCS, AT

Practice Location: OSU Sports Medicine Lewis Center
Experience and Interests: Alana Kirchmer, PT, DPT, SCS, AT has worked in the outpatient orthopedic setting since 2016 prior to joining the Ohio State Sports Medicine team at the Lewis Center location. She has experience in collegiate athletics as she worked as an athletic trainer for Eastern Kentucky University with women’s volleyball and cross country/track and field. She is a board-certified clinical specialist in sports physical therapy and a licensed athletic trainer. She currently serves as the outreach coordinator for the Olentangy School District, Education Coordinator for the Endurance Medicine Team, and member of the Knee Outcome Team. Her clinical areas of expertise include lower extremity injuries/ACLRs, return to sport rehabilitation for competitive and recreational athletes from middle school and older, and performs running gait analyses with use of Dartfish.
Chelseana Lahman, PT, DPT, SCS

Practice Location: The Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute Experience and Interests: Chelsea Lahman, PT, DPT, SCS is a graduate of the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Washington University in St. Louis (2013) and completed the Sports Residency at Ohio State in 2014. She obtained her SCS in 2015 and has been a part of the Sports Residency faculty at OSU since obtaining this certification. She is a clinical mentor, participates in on field practicals, and coordinates the written examinations for the residents. Her areas of expertise include hip conditions, endurance athletes, and gymnastics/diving. She is a member of the USA Diving Medical Staff and provides medical coverage for the USA Diving National Team at competitions around the world. She has certifications in dry needling, blood flow restriction rehabilitation, and bike fitting. As a former athlete at The Ohio State University and member of the USA National Team for springboard diving, she is acutely aware of the demands and perspectives of high-level athletes. She is passionate about injury prevention, enhancing sports performance, and returning athletes back to high level activities following an injury.
Alyssa Mosier, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS

Experience and Interests: Alyssa Mosier, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS received her Undergraduate degree in Exercise Science in 2018 from Kent State University where she was a Division 1 gymnast, three-year varsity letter recipient and NCAA Regional team qualifier. Alyssa then received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from University of Indianapolis in 2021 and completed an internship with Conte Sports Performance Therapy where she gained experienced in the management of professional baseball players. Recently, Alyssa completed Residency at Memorial Hermann Rockets Sports Medicine Institute in 2022 where she gained experience in the high school and collegiate sports medicine world. She presented at American Physical Therapy Association Combined Sections Meeting in 2023 on Meniscal Transplant Outcomes and continues to be involved with research at The Ohio State University Sports Medicine Center focusing on Low Back Pain and Athletic Shoulder populations. Alyssa is also a full-time faculty member of the Upper Extremity Fellowship team and involved with the Performing Arts team. She has certifications in Functional Dry Needling, Sports Concussion Management, Blood Flow Restriction and Acute Illness and Injury Management and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Her areas of expertise include upper extremity injuries, low back pain and the management of recreational and competitive athletes. Professionally, she enjoys treating gymnasts, overhead athletes and combining strength and conditioning and performance optimization into her physical therapy practice.
Kat Rethman, PT, DPT, SCS, MCR

Experience and Interests: Kat Rethman, PT, DPT, SCS is a Board-Certified Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy at the Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute. She is a primary mentor in the Sports PT Residency program since 2015. Her clinical expertise is in the endurance athlete, soccer athlete, and treatment of lower extremity pathology (hip/knee/foot/ankle) across the continuum of rehab. She is also specialized in the creation of custom foot orthotics. Kat has her Master’s in Clinical Research and is currently a Research Associate working on several research studies in the ROAR Lab under Dr. Matt Briggs.
Claire Such, PT, DPT, SCS, AT

Experience and Interests: Claire Such, PT, DPT, SCS, AT is a dual-credentialed Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer, who is also board certified in Sports Physical Therapy. She is a primary mentoring faculty member for clinical and event coverage, participates in practical examinations, and coordinates didactic material for various topics. Her areas of clinical expertise include performing arts, lower extremity injuries/conditions/surgeries, pregnancy & postpartum rehabilitation, the adolescent athlete, and foot and ankle conditions/injuries/surgeries. Claire is also a certified Irish Dance instructor, certified in dry needling, and develops custom foot orthotics. Her areas of clinical research interest include lower extremity injuries and rehabilitation, rehabilitation of the performing artist, and clinician burnout and resilience in rehabilitation.
Mitch Therriault, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS, USAW-1

Experience and Interests: Mitch Therriault, PT, DPT, SCS is a board certified specialist in Sports Physical Therapy, a certified strength and conditioning specialist, and a USA Weightlifting level 1 sports performance coach. He has a passion for strength and conditioning and sports performance and is looking to grow these areas in the field of Physical Therapy. Mitch gained experience in sports physical therapy with the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes from 2014-2016 and with Team USA at the 2015 World University Games. He has also been a strength coach at the University of Dayton, Bo Jackson’s Elite Sports and Donskov Strength and Conditioning in Columbus. Mitch is currently a network PT for United States Soccer and travels with their youth and national teams. At Ohio State, Mitch has experience working with soccer, baseball, and football players from the middle school to professional level. He is a member of the Soccer Performance Team, Barbell Athlete Performance Team, Shoulder Outcome Team, and Knee Outcome Team. He specializes in performance therapy and runs the Bridge 2 Performance program for athletes returning to high level performance after completing rehabilitation. He has a clinical interest in rehabilitation of the overhead athlete and return to sport following ACL reconstruction. He is also certified in dry needling, pitching analysis, FIFA medical diploma, blood flow restriction therapy, weight lifting analysis, and running gait analysis. He currently practices at Bo Jackson’s Elite Sports in Hilliard where he implements screening, prevention, recovery and sports performance strategies for their athletes.
