Year in Review

My first year confronted me with several challenges such as course work, changing my major, and creating healthy social relationships. I learned so much about myself in my first year in college. I have come to realize that I am passionate about history and civic engagement. I became a leader both in an organizational setting but in a personal setting as well. I made myself alongside my family proud. As a second year reflecting on the past, I would not have done anything differently. I am thankful I took every opportunity that was thrown at me, and feel inspired for my future. Now I just need to decide what my future plan is, and how to achieve it.

Global Awareness: This year I decided to increase my global awareness by choosing to study abroad. I have been admitted to a program in Corfu, Greece. The class taught abroad covers the impact of Greek history/culture and how it has affected Western civilization.
Original Inquiry: I want to do public relations for non-profit organizations post graduation. To prepare for this I have acquired leadership positions in both the communication field and in service oriented organizations. I am the Director of Communications for the Undergraduate Student Government and am the Program Coordinator for Alumni Service Events for Student Alumni Council.
Academic Enrichment: I have made the deans list every semester and intend on graduating with a 3.6 GPA or higher. I currently have a 3.94!
Leadership Development: I have undergone intense planning in each of my leadership roles. As Communication Director, I have planned marketing plans and social media initiatives. My roles have taught me operational management and other skills essential to leadership development.
Service Engagement: I completed 75 hours of service in my second year of college! I grew as a community member and learned how important it is to be engaged as a young citizen.

RESUME 2018-206oqwo

Post graduation, I would like to do public relations for non-profit organizations. I enjoy the world of communications and have learnt a lot in my classes this semester. I know the ins and outs of strategic writing. I believe professionalism is evident in how employees write press releases, advisories, etc. I have learned to speak publicly and persuasively on various topics in my communications courses. In my second year, I picked up a Public Affairs major. This field of study is teaching me operational experience and is helping me understand the public sector.

Maintaining a high GPA  – In my third semester here at Ohio State, I have maintained a relatively high grade point average. Even though I have taken several GEs, I have remained on top of things in each class. My study skills that I have developed early on will greatly assist me in more difficult, major required courses.

Director of Communication – By working hard in Undergraduate Student Government, I have earned a director position. There is a total of 9 directors in the 200+ person organization. Directors are the faces of each committee. Committees tackle various projects and policy ideas. My position leads USG in press releases, general marketing, website development, and social media.

Student Alumni Council – This semester I was admitted to Student Alumni Council. Student-Alumni Council develops and supports an array of initiatives for both students and alumni. It is a prestigious club that focuses on event planning, alumni/student relationship formation, and service.
