What is RED STAMP?

RED STAMP is a research study funded by Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). The purpose of the study is to look at how paramedics are trained and what defines proficiency.

In the first phase of the study, we will be developing the first statistically validated proficiency tool for airway management. 200 paramedics will be needed to run through a scenario in our Mobile SimLab in order to identify what criteria makes for a good airway manager.

The second phase of the study will focus on comparing some new methods of instruction in airway management. Through the use of the newly validated tool and a video laryngoscopy library, the project will investigate the impact of different instructional methods related to  improved patient safety.  These phases will require that 500 paramedics run through two scenarios in the Mobile SimLab over a two-year period.
