3 Key Things I learned from ESLTECH 2011

The 3 biggest takeaways are…

  • Time Management
  • SMART Goals
  • Note Taking

Time Management

I have long struggled with time management… it started all the way back in high school and has truly been apart of the reason I’m so stressed every semester. I have learned in this class the best thing to stop from procrastination is to have a plan. And that is what Study Scheduler gave me. Although I haven’t use it as much as I would like the weeks I do use it I find myself being so much more productive and less of the “all wait till tonight” mindset. When you do things on time and don’t have to crunch for time it truly feels very good. I believe it helps with your overall mental health and I can 100% attest to that. With study scheduler the notifications and reminders are what help the most because when you get that notification you just want to get up and do it and then after you feel so good for accomplishing it!

Here as an example:

SMART Goals

The 5 smart goals are…

Specific

Measurable

Achievable

Relevant

Time-Bound

SMART goals have helped me with every aspect of school work and life in general. I am the time of person to think of very big ideas. Whether that’s a goal for school, work, or personal I always think big. And although that is a good thing it can be very detrimental to your end goal because you cannot take the little steps. Once you realize you must take little steps and little goals to achieve the big one it all seems so much easier!

Note Taking

This is another one of those big ones. I used to write down legit everything that was said in class and I noticed that that doesn’t really help because you miss so much information and I find myself going back and basically just having to read myself . I know use the outline method where I go through and look at what is going to be talked about and basically make myself an outline on what I will fill in so it makes it much easier to listen to what the teacher is actually saying and I have seen a big improvement in my work and my grades in general!
