Peer Mentor

My Peer Mentor is named Pat Finn and he is originally from Long Island, NY. He came to OSU for that public school experience and joined PSL for a built-in system of people you know. He became a mentor to get to know other students and to provide support for them as well. His major is political science with a minor in History and part of the ROTC program. First Year Experience was useful for him and internships are smooth if you stay on top of it. He advises to take advantage of your opportunities at OSU and to put yourself out there.

About Me

George Ramirez is a first-year PSL Scholar from Austin, TX. He is majoring in Political Science and hopes to attend graduate school in the future. He hopes to row varsity crew at Ohio State in the future and to get involved in various organizations across campus. He is passionate about helping people who are mentally disabled and hopes to get involved at Ohio State. George grew up enjoying history throughout his high school years, and hopes to use that knowledge to help him in a practical setting. Mr. Young’s US History class in 8th grade really inspired him to pursue a degree that looks at the structure of our political system. He hopes to conduct research in the future about the effect of voter turnout on mid-term and other election cycles, and why minorities vote less in said elections. Numerous careers interest him currently, but being a lawyer or a history professor top his goals. George thrives in a welcoming community that works hard, and he hopes to bring that hard-working attitude to his next challenge. George has been heavily involved in Special Olympics and autism awareness since middle school, and hopes to contribute a perspective of a Hispanic background and autism awareness to The Ohio State University.
