Year in Review

With my freshman year in the books, I feel like I’ve already done as much work as I did in my two years at Olentangy Orange High School. The year started of well, and I constantly met new people. It took a while to get used to having 500 hundred classmates for Bio 1113, but I did find a group of friends to sit with throughout the year. I joined the Undergraduate Neuroscience Outreach Organization (UNOO) early on too. It was the right mix of doing productive work and working in neuroscience, something I’m passionate about. In the spring, chemistry was a big challenge, and I was pushed further than I ever was in high school. However, I do believe that my work ethic improved as a result. For my pre-medicine career, I volunteered at Mt. Carmel St. Ann’s and The James. As of today, I’ll be meeting Dr. Benedetta Leuner  for a chance to get involved in research next year. With all that going on, I’m glad I was a part of Health Science Scholars and its tight knit community in Park-Stradley hall. Ultimately, I’m very satisfied with my first year of college. Although I could use a summer to refresh my mind, I’m definitely looking forward to next year.
