Each week we will explore a different mindfulness topic hosted by various experts in their field. Read below to learn more about each session, speaker and topic.

Week 1: Becoming an Architect of Change with Maria Shriver

Week 2: The Neuroscience of Compassion with Daniel J. Siegel, MD

  • Dr. Daniel Siegel discusses the underpinnings of true compassion, how to cultivate both a caring heart and a healthy mind, and key skills for maintaining happy relationships.

Week 3: The Yin and Yang of Self-Compassion with Kristin Neff, PhD

  • Dr. Kristin Neff is a pioneer in the field of self-compassion research, conducting the first empirical studies on self-compassion over 15 years ago.

Week 4: A Merciful, Loving Presence with Elizabeth Gilbert

  • Tara Brach speaks with bestselling author and teacher Elizabeth Gilbert on the meaning and importance of mercy.

Week 5: Hardwired for Compassion with Dacher Keltner, PhD

  • Dr. Dacher Keltner explores the biological roots of human compassion and some of the proven ways we can transform our relationships and our world through the power of compassion and kindness.

Week 6: Revolutionary Love with Valarie Kaur, JD

  • Valarie Kaur shares her story as a Sikh American activist and mother and how it led her to the call of what she refers to as “revolutionary love.”

Week 7: Creativity, Presence and Compassion with Sandra Oh

  • Sandra Oh, Canadian actress best known for her roles in Grey’s Anatomy and Killing Eve, shares her challenges as an Asian artist attempting to break through long-standing stereotypes, connection between her spiritual practice and creative pursuits, and how to take refuge in presence during stressful situations and circumstances.

Week 8: How Mindfulness Can Heal the World with Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD

  • Jon Kabat-Zinn, expert in mindfulness research, discusses the true power of mindfulness to transform our lives and the planet, discussing how we as a society must learn to confront suffering and injustice, and the revolution in consciousness, to right the ship.

Week 9: Courage and Compassion with Krista Tippett

  • Krista Tippett, founder and CEO of The On Being Project, a media and public life initiative providing “tools for the art of living” talks about her varied work with and the courage to awaken our hearts in the spirit of service and compassion for the collective good.

Week 10: Bridging the Divides That Separate Us with Van Jones

  • Van Jones talks about action to address injustice, how we determine the first step—and how we can avoid the trap of “becoming what we’re fighting”.
