A Collaborative Map of Latinidad: A Proposed Future of Latinidad

Long ago, we lived in a world where the concept of Latinidad was limited to the expectations and rulings of vast kingdoms and empires that preyed on those they believed were beneath them. Where witchcraft and the feelings of otherworldly magic were plagues and diseases, dragons were armies protecting their hoard, and ogres wore the cross preaching salvation. Alas, after many centuries of trials and tribulations, we’ve broken our restraints and have separated ourselves from the ones we used to answer to. We’ve also separated from each other, developing our own foods, music, and traditions. We now live in a present that allows Latin America to have unique individualistic personalities all over the region. Even so, when celebrating the countries that we come from, the _culture of Latinidad connected our communities forevermore. Now that we live in a world of togetherness, we present to you, fellow adventurers, a journey filled with passion, sadness, joy, and pride as we take you through the Future of Latinidad.

  1. Glacier of Machismo: Natives of this brutally cold land shiver and have dry skin, but none will wear a sweater or apply lotion because “¡eso es pa’coyones!”.
  2. Ocean of Heritage: Passengers on voyages across this ocean always remember the ocean breeze of traditions, the sea chants on cultural legacies of the waves, and the wake of past, present, and future heritages of Latinidad.
  3. Catacombs of Immigration: This path less traveled requires a level of stealth and ingenuity, but always remember to pay your respects to those who went through before you, as this has become their final resting place.
  4. Saborlandia: Passing through this land, all the scents and flavors of various cuisines (tacos, pozole, mofongo, and more!) salivate your tongue.
  5. Sea of Equality: From the accounts of other notable adventurers, the Sea of Equality provides everyone with the same calmness on their journeys as you are experiencing right now.
  6. Island of Languages: You hear various dialects of beauty slip in conversations, some more clearer than others.
  7. Everglades of Equality: Beauty and peace as far as the eye can see as every living thing within these waters has everything they need for their own survival and is always willing to help a newcomer such as yourself.
