G.O.A.L.S.

The University Honors & Scholars Center at The Ohio State University serves high-ability, motivated undergraduate students. While embracing diversity in both ideas and people, the Center fosters purposeful learning communities that enhance students’ academic and social experiences. The Center facilitates impactful, rigorous, and unique opportunities that further student success and involvement in our G.O.A.L.S.: Global Awareness, Original Inquiry, Academic Enrichment, Leadership Development, and Service Engagement.

G.O.A.L.S.

Here are my planned G.O.A.L.S. for my time here at Ohio State:

  • Global Awareness: I am currently planning to go on the Global May trip to Uganda this summer to experience a different culture and setting.  Not only am I hoping to learn everything I can about the people in Uganda, but also about Uganda’s presence in the world.
  • Original Inquiry: Soon I am planning to go to the Center for Automotive Research and try and join the Alternative Fuels research team.
  • Academic Enrichment: I hope to be able to work on the Student Farm sometime this spring to feed my passion for farming, but also the OSU community!
  • Leadership Development: Being apart of the Leadership Collaborative this past summer has taught me things I have never known about leadership that I am going to apply to be a peer mentor so I can help others learn the great things leadership has to offer.
  • Service Engagement: Every semester I hope to reach about 10 hours of community service. So far, I have participated in different activities such as preparing food for those in need in Franklin County, spending a Saturday morning before a football game picking up trash on the streets around campus, or cleaning up a community garden to foster plant growth.
