Hello! My name is Courtney Pugh and I am a Second Year Student at The Ohio State University. I am pursuing a major in Health Sciences on a Pre-Medicine track, as well as a double minor in Biology and Spanish. I am a Biological Sciences Scholar within the Honors and Scholars Center at OSU. The BioSci Scholars Groups has allowed me to connect with an amazing group of individuals who share similar interests and are all moving toward a greater goal of enriching our college experience through scholarship, service, and friendship.
As for my campus involvement, I am currently the Service Chair for the Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students, as well as the Secretary of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated Theta Chapter here at OSU. I am also a part of the programming committee for the National Pan-Hellenic Council and a volunteer at the Columbus Free Clinic. During my second year at Ohio State, I worked as an Office Assistant within Residence Life at Smith- Steeb Hall. Next year I plan to continue my involvement in Residence Life as I venture into my new position as a Resident Advisor.
All of these experiences combined have allowed me to develop my professional skills and foster better communication skills throughout my time at OSU. My experiences have also taught me the importance of giving back to one’s community, in order to make a greater impact by sharing the skills I’ve acquired. This year, I was accepted into the ASPIRE Medical Research Experience at The OSU College Medicine. I look forward to utilizing my personal skills in order to make a difference in the field of Medicine through undergraduate research.
This E-portfolio outlines the many involvements and experiences that have been key in my personal growth and professional development. Through this, you will be able to get a better idea of my interests, goals, and values as a student at The Ohio State University. Go Bucks!
