- Making new drivers aware of the risk of the driving is very important because they are less able to detect and recognize risks than more experienced drivers (Shope & Bingham, 2008).
- Therefore, leaving them more susceptible to being involved in a motor vehicle accident. By educating drivers about potential hazards, the number of accidents could be reduced.
- Visual scanning patterns differ for experienced and unexperienced drivers. While experienced drivers visually scan for hazards in the distance, unexperienced drivers tend to focus on individual hazards and hazards close to their vehicle (Shope & Bingham, 2008).
