I cannot stress enough how important it is to protect yourself as a protester. Whether during or after the protest, simply ensuring you are mentally well is enough to protect yourself and others, and it is a great way to ensure your safety. There have been many instances of protesters who didn’t use any methods to keep themselves or their identity safe that have led to them receiving death threats, getting their personal information doxed, or receiving physical and emotional harm from groups who oppose the reasoning of the protest. In the United States, lately, we have seen an influx of nonviolent protests where anarchists and other opposing groups would pretend like they are protesters of a movement to cause some damage, forcing the reason behind the protest to lose the general public’s respect. This website was created to highlight and propose solutions to these issues and give protesters tips on protecting themselves mentally and physically from harm.
