Artifacts

This is THE swim cap given to the club swimmers from the club swim team. We got this at our first meet of the year and all of the new member’s first meet. To me this represents unity. Every member of the swim team wears one as we proudly represent our school at a competition. It also represents the club as a whole. On the second week of school the club’s eboard brought all of the new members to a local pool for a night to have fun and meet new people. This was a very important night for me as I felt welcomed to the team and got to meet many new friendships which have only grown from then. This night truly showed me the fun I was going to have over the next four years as long as I put myself out there and participate. I will never make new friends by sitting in my room watching Netflix, but I can by going to a club meeting and sitting next to an unfamiliar face, or going to an unfamiliar place. I will continue to strive to try new things, join new clubs, and try new experiences while I am at Ohio State.

About Me

My name is Robert Prophater and I am a first year student at Ohio State University. I am currently enrolled in the Fisher College of Business pursuing a specialization in Finance and a minor in Business Analytics. I grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, in a very big family with 9 siblings. I am the 3rd generation to go to Ohio State following in my Grandpa and Dad’s footsteps. I enjoy studying numbers and learning how to break down big problems into smaller ones. This has led to my current on campus job as a Student Assistant at the Accounts Payable office at Ohio State where we help organize and pay for everything for the University. Outside of class I greatly enjoy film and specifically Horror film academia, asking questions like why we like to get scared, and why do most films end with one female protagonist. To stay in shape, I am on the club team and I want to eventually score points for Ohio State at the National Championship meet.
