  • Trash
    • Tie the bag
      •  Customer: I have difficulty tying the trash bag with one hand.
      •  Need Statement: Trash is contained by use of one hand.
      •  Metric: Pass/Fail  Containment success rate (%) with no garbage spill out.
    • Removing trash bag
      •  Customer: It is very difficult to pull the trash bag out of the bin with one hand.
      •  Need Statement: The bag is easily removed from the bin with one hand.
      •  Metric: Subjective ease of trash removal (scale 1-10)
  • Getting dressed
    • Shoe tying
      •  Customer: I can’t tie my shoes with one hand.
      •  Need Statement: Shoes are tightened on foot with laces secured by use of one hand.
      •  Metric: Pressure of lace tightness (Pa) and time it takes to tie (s)
  • Clothes
    • Buttoning shirts
      •  Customer: I have difficulty buttoning shirts while folding and getting dressed with one hand.
      •  Need Statement: Buttons are easily fastened with the use of one hand.
      •  Metric: Percentage of successfully closed buttons (%)

      •  Customer: I have difficulty carrying laundry baskets around the house with one hand.

      •  Customer: I don’t feel comfortable shaving my underarm with that side’s hand.
