Cleaning Tasks

Ryan’s Friend

  • Vacuuming
    • Keeping cord out of the way is a bit annoying
    • No problems otherwise
  • Making Bed
    • No issues
    • Just took a bit longer

Ryan

  • Sweeping with dust pan
    • Impossible to hold both with one arm
    • Had to lean dust pan against a wall and sweep to it.
  • Wiping Tables
    • No issue, carrying things off the tables took twice as long though.
  • Taking out the Trash
    • Difficult to get bag out
    • Lifts the bin with the bag
    • Have to set down trash when opening doors and bins outside
    • Lifting trash into tall bin difficult with one arm

 

Emily’s Friend:

  • Sweeping with broom
    • sweeping with the broom itself was slightly awkward but worked
    • using dustpan was not easy–had to step on it with foot to keep it from moving and it led to much dirt being left behind on the floor

Emily

  • Trash
    • taking out trash was incredibly difficult–had to squeeze trashcan between legs to lift bag out
    • difficult to tie trash bag closed

Matt’s Friend

  • Sweeping with dust pan / Vacuuming
    • Didn’t do sweeping because we had a swiffer and it was easy to do with one arm
    • Vacuuming was a little more difficult because the cord (that is usually held with the other hand) kept on getting in the way
  • Making the bed / changing sheets
    • Extremely hard to do normally and impossibly hard without two hands … maybe would have been able to do it with A LOT more time and patience
  • Taking out the Trash
    • Hard to remove bag from bin and to tie it with one hand
    • Transporting to the garbage and depositing wasn’t as hard of a task
      • Had to constantly stop and put down bag to open doors

Matt

  • Sweeping with dust pan / Vacuuming
    • Didn’t do sweeping
    • Ran into the same problems as my friend with the cord continuously being in the way
  • Making the bed / changing sheets
    • Didn’t even attempt after watching friend struggle
  • Taking out the Trash
    • Most difficult was bag removal and tying up the bad
    • Transporting to the garbage and depositing wasn’t as hard of a task
      • Had to constantly stop and put down bag to open doors

Kimberly

  • Sweeping
    • Very simple until using dustpan, keeping dustpan in place was difficult
  • Vacuuming
    • Also simple, possibly due to very lightweight vacuum, the chord was easily moved with foot and hung over shoulder
    • Took more time to turn off vacuum and move furniture around
  • Changing sheets
    • Do-able, however very difficult due to heavy mattress
    • Needed to use need to prop up mattress to fold over corners
    • Difficult to lift mattress onto knee
    • Used foot to help shove pillow back in case
      • Very Time consuming

Kimberly’s Friend

  • Sweeping
    • Again simple until using dustpan, difficult to hold still
      • unable to completely clean dirt pile
  • Vacuuming
    • very simple, might have been harder for heavier vacuum
    • Moved chord with foot however got wrapped around and may cause tripping
  • Trash
    • Very Difficult tying bag
      • Used mouth (gross)
