Our product design group started out brainstorming many different questions and paths to explore for areas of improvement. Through many discussions, our group landed on two potential topics: recycling and first response & fire safety. Since we favored both of these ideas equally, we decided for a short period of time to further investigate both. After multiple interviews and more background research, the group decided that the topic we wanted to pursue was first response & fire safety. Our group then spent several months doing research, shadowing, concept generations, and sketch prototypes to narrow our ideas down to four problem areas we could address. After talking with our primary users our group decided to move forward with developing a quick deploying safety barrier for all of emergency responders. This site is dedicated to document our group’s progress throughout the process of product development.
