OPPORTUNITIES

1.”Hello pre-optometry club,

Our private practice in Worthington, Ohio is interested in hiring two pre-optometry students part-time for the upcoming school year.

Albright and Schnulo Family Eye Care was founded over 70 years ago and is a great location to learn more about eye care in a flexible environment where you can still focus on your classes. We are also a fourth-year optometry student externship site which has a focus on student education.

We have employed many pre-optometry students over the years, and we hope to add two more hardworking students to our growing practice. Ideally, students would be able to work Saturday mornings AND at least a half day during the week.”

7. This opportunity is provided by Logan Anway, a former pre-optometry member who has worked at EyeCare Professionals for two years now but will not be able to work as much, as they are starting optometry school at OSU this fall:

“Hi everyone, I am reaching out about a possible job opportunity for pre-optometry students for this upcoming fall. EyeCare Professionals which is in Powell, about 20 minutes from campus is looking for students who can work a few afternoons a week for a part-time position and going forward for the next few semesters, including a full time or near full time position over summer and winter breaks. There are opportunities to learn so much working at this office, including pre-testing patients, checking them in, ordering contacts/glasses, and helping in optical. It has been a great experience for many pre-opt students in the past, and anyone in pre-optometry club should apply. The doctors at the office have written previous student workers letters of recommendation that have helped them get into OSU’s optometry school!

Whoever is interested can email Jason Smith (office manager) at manager@eyecarepowell.com with their resume and why they are interested in the job.”

8. “Med West Eyecare in Westerville is looking for a part time technician to work Saturdays.  The office is open 8-1 with typically two optometrists seeing approximately 15-20 patients.  Technicians will work up patients taking case history and completing pre-testing including stereopsis, color vision, visual fields, and others.  There is also opportunity to get some hands on optical dispensary experience and training as well.  Anyone that is interested can reach out to Dr. Christina Kesslar at ckbuckeye@aol.com or 614-891-0350.”
