What you have done?
I met with my second reader to get a feel for what he feels are prioritites for the Practicum. He had concerns about the quality of the questions. I agreed, but said the question about “What is your Least Favorite part of the Hackathon” yielded some great insights that the student leads thought were valuable. Yes, that question and the “Most favorite” are a bit simplistic but many many comments came from those two. I did not have any better ideas and they were basically unchangeable anyway due to the IRB approval, so there were some constraints.
What do you need to do?
I had asked my second reader what he thought priorities should be and he said, among other things, to include research foundations, so I am digging deeper into the literature. I also need to consider the learning problem/question that needs to be solved and my contribution (see Notes #2).
How and why you have adjusted your Project Plan?
I looked at the “3 weeks” for “Prepare Report” and that will not happen. I have 1 week to prepare Julia’s data report before I do a trial run, then I work on the Practicum Report. Granted, most of these reports are duplicates, dealing with the same data, but they will have different emphases. My Client report will focus on the meanings behind the data, and the Practicum report will focus on my documentation of the Practicum experience, and how the literature connects to what really happened at the Hackathon. I appreciated the input and am very glad we had that meeting.
