Simmerman Practicum Project Abstract
My practicum project will contain two parts: this website that captures the feel, excitement and the purposes of a hackathon event, and presents the ways a hackathon creates an informal learning environment; and an evaluative report that offers insights specific to Ohio State’s 2018 OHI/O Hackathon prepared for the Client. My project will culminate in a presentation of these two components to Dr. Ana-Paula Correia, my advisor and Dr. Rick Voithofer, my second reader.
For the website, I will research informal learning and ways hackathons contribute to an experiential, voluntary, rewarding and exhausting activity.
For the client report, I will offer insights into the event for future reference. This will become increasingly important as the hackathon grows in attendance and popularity.
