Understanding the Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD)

Understanding the Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD):

Effective January 1, 2017, the U.S. FDA has implemented new regulations addressing
on-farm antibiotic use in feed-animal production. This affects everyone (including
4-H members as youth producers) keeping, owning, and/or raising food-production
animals.
Dr. Heather Lane, DVM, MPH, DACVPM will provide an overview of the FDA’s new regulations and what
biosecurity measures one can take to reduce the need for antibiotic use.
