4-H Life Skills Project Completion Requirements and Judging Information

Visual Aid – this can include a poster, scrapbook, the project itself (no guns or archery/shooting equipment is allowed on the fairgrounds), or pictures of your project.

Interview with Judge – In order to be eligible to participate at State Fair, you must attend the respective Grade Day and interview with a judge. For county Project Completion only, an advisor can interview or review project competition guidelines.

Food & Nutrition – Saturday, July 16th from 9am-12pm

Schedule

Portfolio – This has also been required at the state judging.  The notebook can be 2 or 3 ring or a folder that holds pages so they can be easily turned.

There should be one page only; single sided, for each activity covered in the project book.  This page should portray what was learned in that activity.  It can be hand written (neatly!), typed, shown in picture form, or a combination of these methods.  While it should be neatly done, it is not a “scrapbook” project!  The 4-H member will use this as they explain to the portfolio judge about their project, so the judge can follow along.
