Have you ever wondered how to engage children in the garden?
Then join Michelle Smith, Portage County Master Gardener and mother as she covers why gardening with children still matters. The program will cover introducing children to the garden, keeping older children engaged, and garden safety tips. This program is for parents, grandparents and anyone else who interacts with children. Children will be entertained (see below) while adults are at the program.
This coming Sunday the Moebius Nature Center of Aurora will be holding an educational seminar on why gardening is important for children. Meg MacIntyre of Creatures N Features, with the assistance of a benefit committee grant, will be leading a book reading- “Compost Stew”, craft, and be providing a snack. If you have young kids who would be interested in coming to play and learn, please bring them!
Each family will be given a copy of this book to take home with them!
