All are invited to the Farm to Fork Meat Marketing Workshop that will be hosted by Joy Bauman, the Pike County 4-H Educator, and Dirk Dempsey, the Pike County Extension Agriculture and Natural Resources Educator, with special guest, Dr. Lyda Garcia, Extension Meat Specialist and Associate Professor in the Department of Animal Science at Ohio State University. The workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 9 in the Art Hall at the Pike County Fairgrounds.
Youth who are entered or planning to enter the Farm to Fork carcass contest should plan to attend this event, but all youth and adults are welcome! This workshop will help you gain a better understanding of carcass yield and value and how to price your freezer meat for customers. At the end of the session, youth will have the opportunity to create a marketing flyer or video to market their Farm to Fork project!
