All youth with market animal (market steer, market hog, market lamb, market goat, market chicken, market rabbit) or dairy (cattle and goat) projects MUST complete the Youth Livestock Quality Assurance educational program by June 9, 2023 to be eligible to exhibit livestock at the 2023 Pike County Fair. Following are the local options for completing the Quality Assurance requirement.
- Monday, March 27: via Zoom @ 7:00pm (must register by 3/26) http://go.osu.edu/pikeqamarch27reg
- Tuesday, April 4: via Zoom @ 7:00 pm (must register by 4/3) http://go.osu.edu/pikeqaapril4reg
- April 18: Rabbit & Poultry Clinic and QA at the Pike County Fairgrounds Registration: 5:30-6 p.m., Program 6-8 p.m.
- April 20: via Zoom @ 7:00pm (must register by 4/18) http://go.osu.edu/pikeqaapril20reg
All of the above-listed trainings are free.
Another option is to complete the Youth Quality Care of Animals online training which costs $12 and is available at https://yqcaprogram.org/
If a member chooses to complete their QA training the the YQCA site or at another county training, certification of the completed training must be submitted to the Pike County Extension Office no later than June 10, 2023.
