In a fast-paced, highly productive biostatistical unit it is easy for statisticians to focus on completing project work while ignoring professional development. Unfortunately, such an environment often results in statisticians being essentially “siloed” at their workplace.
The PICC (Practical Issues in Collaboration and Consulting) Series was founded by two senior biostatisticians in 2018 in response to a need for increased support, fellowship, and mentoring opportunities among a group of collaborating statisticians housed in the Center for Biostatistics, Department of Biomedical Informatics at The Ohio State University. PICC was designed as a simple, feasible way to allow statisticians to share knowledge as well as promote a sense of community in the workplace.

To provide an informal, relaxed environment for statisticians to ask questions and share experiences, knowledge, and practical tips about collaborating with investigators.
