Hydia’s Analysis of Rob’s, Zach’s, and Dylan’s Reflections

With Rob, Zach and Dylan’s reflections, I seen similarities between them. Personal integrity is one of them. They all said some about how they have a certain type of stability when it comes to their moral values. I also put personal integrity as one of my narrative values. I think it is important that to have personal integrity because it can help you make sure that you are in line with social and moral norms and you will be looked at as a respectful person.

With the differences, there are several. I mean we are very different people, coming from different backgrounds, so it is pretty obvious that our narrative values wouldn’t be the same.

With Rob’s, one of his narrative values is wittiness. Nobody else in my group has that value and it shows Rob’s uniqueness. Because of his background and being from a different country, he didn’t actually know how to how Americans behave. Being witty was just natural to him. Being himself around a new set of people was proven to be successful and he realized that this is what made him connect with the new people. Also he had sincerity as another of his narrative values. He just can’t sugar-coat things. He just tells you the truth and whenever he tries to be funny, it comes off as being sarcastic. But in general, Rob is a pretty cool person and these narrative values have made him a great person.

My other group partner, Dylan, had the narrative values of steadfastness and intellectual curiosity. Steadfastness is being dedicated with whatever you are doing with your life and having the endurance to do it. When his parents divorced, he still kept going instead of being depressed and not wanting to do anything. Also when he was not sure that his major was the one that he wanted to do, that didn’t stop from finding a major that he liked and being confident that he was happy with it. With intellectual curiosity, him being in Philosophy 2465 always had him looking up further information about the topic we went over in class that day and when we saw the musical Hamilton, he spent a good amount of time researching Alexander Hamilton because he has this urge for finding out more about things. These values have molded him into a hard-working person who is always looking for the next challenge.

My last group partner, Zach, has the narrative values of respectful, generosity and relentlessness. Zach was raised to be respectful by his parents. He does this because he wants to leave a good impression on people and also people will treat him the same. Zach was exposed to people being generous, so it was natural that he would be generous too. It makes him feel good and he knows that he is doing something great. Zach is always reaching toward his goals and nothing can stop him from reaching them. He realized how close he is to graduating college and living the life that he always wanted. This has given him the motivation to keep pushing and not letting small things push him down.

In all, we are all similar in a way and we are all different. There is nothing wrong with both and the way we can know this is by narrative values. Narrative values can let you know how you are in your life and what you have accomplish. Also you can even change the way your story is told because you are looking back and reflecting on it, making changes. Our narrative values and reflections are a raw perspective of who we are as a person.theres-nothing-wrong-being-different-vector-digitally-generated-52700804
