Travis Costa is a recent graduate from Ohio State from Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been with the Phelps Lab since 2019, and is a recipient of the 2019 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship.
Travis is currently working on a pharmacokinetic study involving the quantification of ASO-221 loaded extracellular vesicles in an orthotopic mouse model of Hepatocellular Carcinoma.
Travis intends on attending medical school and becoming a physician. He is driven by his passion for oncology and helping people who are suffering from cancer. Travis chose the Phelps Lab because he has a strong interest in gaining experience in clinically relevant cancer research. He was drawn to the lab by his interest in clinical pharmacology and the practicality of the research being conducted. Additionally, Travis’s background is in Biomedical Engineering, to which Clinical Pharmacology is relevant.
His favorite memory with the lab was participating in the escape room with the other lab members.
