Undergraduate Genetic Counseling Club

The Undergraduate Genetic Counseling Club was one organization that I was extremely interested in when I began my freshman year here at Ohio State, and has greatly impacted my experience here thus far.  When I attended my first club meeting for this program, I was unsure of what to expect.  I walked into a classroom of strange faces, and everyone appeared much older than me.  It was intimidating and scary to put myself out there, but I was extremely pleased with what followed in that meeting.  I was further introduced into the world of genetic counseling, which made my passion for this field grow even stronger.  Since then, I have consistently attended each meeting, and have been introduced to great resources and information regarding this field.  I have heard various genetic counselors talk at the club meetings, and their insights have helped me realize that this is the field that I want to go into.  This club has helped me find my place and passion here at Ohio State.  Attending this club has made me completely sure that I am on the right academic path, and has made me excited for my future in the genetic counseling world.
