July 1-14th 2019

This show was by far my favorite due to it being a dressage show and it was located at Bravehorse in Johnstown. This type of showing is very gentle, quiet, and elegant. I had a hard time grasping the times of when i needed to capture a pose just because i was so used to doing Hunter/Jumpers. The lighting was also a slight problem so i had to work around that but managed it because i have finally mastered my camera! I was still told to clock out when there was not a horse but we also had longer breaks which were nice. This show required me to photograph the whole weekend and i did not help in the office. I had to leave and go home Sunday early due to getting sick but they worked around it and helped me to be able to go home and rest.

June 20-23rd 2019

This was located at Bravehorse again in Johnstown. I was a photographer again and was again told to clock out when not photographing. I was taking photos of the younger riders who were learning the ropes for Hunter showing. It was very cute and i had a lot of fun capturing the moments between their trainers and parents. I did not work in the office again or during the week because they did not need my help.

June 15-16th 2019

This show was located at Nest in Pataskala. I was the only photographer due to it being a one ring show. I had been previously asked to make sure i show up a bit earlier so that i am not considered late. So i showed up 30 minutes prior to the show starting. I was not allowed to clock in until 15 minutes before the start time which i understand. But i was having a hard time understanding their time requirements. I would be told to get there 15 minutes before a show would start but apparently that was not good enough and they would count me late. So we talked and i asked them to be more clear on their timing. Also this was the beginning of them telling me to clock out when a horse would not be ready. I found this to be rude and not fair because i was on the location and it was not my fault they were not ready to show their horse. So i was not getting paid for my whole time. I understanding clocking out for my lunch to leave and get lunch or to eat but this was very unfair. Also this location was located literally across the road from y bosses house and he was at home working in the office during this show and was texting me to tell me what to do which i found to be a little unprofessional.

May 30th- June 2nd 2019

This show was another Bravehorse show in Johnstown. I was not told when and where to be until 9pm the previous night which is very frustrating when i like to plan ahead and set my schedule. I had to email them myself to receive any information. I was again just a photographer which was becoming irritating because i was told i’d be working in the office with customers and photographing. I then had office work during the week after the show which was fun, i began to like it more than doing the shows because it was busy work and i like to have a list of things to complete in a day so it was fun.

May 23-26th 2019

This show was back at Bravehorse in Johnstown. It was a typical show and i was responsible for one ring the whole weekend. I was basically doing the same photographing as usual and did not help in the office during the show. After the show I did in office work during the week and was submitting orders, packaging and shipping photos, and building the gallery. There was another communication issue when leaving Sunday night form the show. I was told to meet someone after already leaving to get a computer which was poor planning and inconvenient. I was starting to get irritated with the poor communication. I had previously asked if we could work on it and set a better schedule but nothing changed. I would also not know when and where I need be for a show starting around the time after Michigan. I believe they made themselves to busy with to many shows in a weekend and was having a hard time communicating to everyone.

May 14-19th 2019

This show was very different than the others, it is located in Waterloo Michigan. I drove separately to the location which was about 3 hours from Columbus. I was super excited for this show due to the travel and private club for the show. I was one of 3 photographers this week and was responsible for one ring the whole week. This show became very long due to the heat and long days but was one our typical Hunter/Jumper shows. At night around 9pm i would be asked to help sort photos to file and upload to the website. This became frustrating because after being on my feet all day and in the sun i wanted to go to sleep but i shared a room with my bosses wife which would not get back to the room until 10pm due to doing work and myself still working. Later in the week I had issues with my foot but they helped work out a way to make me comfortable and still able to work. I was still photographing, but i had times where i worked in the office to help sell and communicate with customers and helped sort photos. After we arrived back in Ohio I started doing office work which was neat because i learned behind the scenes type work. I was taught how to build the gallery online, edit a few pictures, and submit orders to our financial books.

May 11-12th 2019

This show was located at Eden Park in Sunbury. I was one of two photographers that day. I was told to bring all the equipment from my bosses house for this show. We had to set up the tables, Ipads, and computer. My boss was at a different show this weekend so we did not have a manager again. We stuck to the schedule and had no complications over the two days. This show was another typical Hunter/ Jumper show so i was beginning to become fairly well at pin pointing the specific time of when the horse jumps and capturing special moments of celebration between the trainer and rider or their family. At the end of the show we again had issues on to whom would be taking things home or to my bosses house but we figured it out.

April 27th 2019

This show was located in Goshen Ohio which was my first show out of the Columbus area. When I got to the arena i was to work/shadow two other photographers for the day. My boss is also a photographer but was at a different location/show. The show was our typical Hunter/ Jumper but was much smaller than other shows i’ve photographed. It was a very confusing day because there was not a manager on site so we had to text them back and forth all day to see who needed to be in what ring and when we could take our lunch breaks. Also after the show i was to bring home all the tables, Ipads, and computer since my boss was not at this location. I was then told to leave before the last person which did not make since due to me taking home the equipment. I was then told to wait and meet the last person later that night around 9:30-10pm to gather all of the things needed to be taken to my bosses house. So overall there was poor communication and frustrating timing.

April 19-21st 2019

This show was one of our usual shows located in Johnstown at Bravehorse. This show is for Hunter and Jumper showers, which is when a horse jumps a standard. These are the typical shows we photograph due to connections with my boss and his wife. This was my second 3 time capturing hunters so i was still trying to grasp the concept and learn the exact time in which my boss wanted to horse at between the standard. It become fairly easy but was slightly boring due to having to stand in one spot the entire day capturing the same type of photo over 50+ times. this is also located at an outside arena which is very nice when the weather cooperates. At the end of this show I was taught more on the sorting operation which i thought was easy until i saw the same pose or type of jump in every picture but they were different people or horses. Karrin my boss taught me how to distinguish different horse by color, name, and lead. There are also different types of bits a horse uses which can be helpful to see in different pictures so that you can find the correct horse and number for their file.

April 13-15th 2019

This show was  unique because it was not our typical show. This was classified as a learning show located at the Ohio State Fair grounds for professionals to teach young or new riders different types of showing and how to better themselves. I had a blast capturing this event because I was in charge of getting all candid photos for the day. It was difficult at times because I was still trying to learn lighting settings on my camera from going and out of buildings all day. Overall this event was just practice for me to show them how well I could go on my own and schedule myself to the Equine Affairs schedule. I captured details of horses, the event, and special moments between people and the overall event.
