Garage Remix was a weekend long design workshop dedicated to finding a way to make the parking garages on campus a happier place. Sadly, OSU has a recent history of suicides off of these buildings. I decided to participate in this workshop because the most recent suicide affected me personally. I saw this as an opportunity to spread some of my inherent positivity and optimism in the places that need it the most. My group collaborated a lot and came up with the idea to do different interactive themed floors throughout the garage. We wanted to let people leave their mark on the space by interacting with a restaurant suggestion board or a where are you from board. We created a prototype for this idea and overall spent the weekend designing this concept. Overall it was a very informational and educational weekend focused on the design process. I got to collaborate with people in different majors and age groups to come up with one cohesive and meaningful idea.
