Perry Lab Is Hiring!
2/20/2025
In 2024, student research assistants traveled to the Holden Arboretum to install and service insect traps. This project aims to characterize the responses of insect communities following invasive understory plant removal.
The Forest Insect Ecology Lab (PI Dr. Kayla Perry) is seeking student research assistants for the 2025 summer to support ongoing research projects in the field and laboratory.
Projects focus on the responses of arthropod communities to a variety of disturbances such as emerald ash borer, elm zigzag sawfly, invasive understory plants, and forest management.
Responsibilities will include setting/collecting traps in the field, plant identification, processing and sorting insect samples, identifying insect specimens, recording and archiving data, and general laboratory organization and cleaning.
Additional tasks could be assigned based on interest. Position will require some travel and overnight stay out of state.
No previous entomology experience? No problem at all! We will train you with everything you need to know.
